Third Security historically managed (i) life-science focused venture capital investment funds, which we referred to as "New River Management Funds," and (ii) smaller regionally focused venture capital investment funds, which we referred to as the "Regional Funds." We referred to our New River Management Funds and our Regional Funds collectively as our "Affiliated Investment Funds." Each Affiliated Investment Fund had its own general partner, and Third Security served as each general partner's manager.
